National Safety Council Green Cross Celebration 2026: Honoring Excellence in Workplace Safety

Kelsey Hargrove • June 22, 2026

Because behind every safety program, policy, and innovation is a person committed to protecting others.

Every year, thousands of safety professionals show up to work with the same goal: helping people get home safely.

It's not always glamorous work. Much of it happens behind the scenes through training sessions, site visits, audits, difficult conversations, and countless decisions made in the interest of protecting others. Most of the time, the best safety work goes unnoticed because incidents never happen in the first place.

That's why events like the National Safety Council's Green Cross Celebration matter.

On September 14, 2026, safety leaders, advocates, innovators, and organizations from across the country will gather at the historic Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis for an evening dedicated to recognizing excellence in workplace safety and supporting the National Safety Council's mission to save lives and prevent injuries.

Recognizing Those Who Move Safety Forward

The Green Cross Celebration serves as both a fundraiser and a recognition event, highlighting individuals and organizations making meaningful contributions to safety.

This year's awards will recognize achievements in three categories:

  • Safety Excellence Award
  • Safety Advocate Award
  • Safety Innovation Award

These awards represent something larger than individual accomplishments. They recognize the people and organizations willing to challenge assumptions, improve processes, advocate for workers, and find new ways to reduce risk.

Why the National Safety Council Matters

For more than a century, the National Safety Council has been one of the most influential organizations advancing workplace safety, roadway safety, and injury prevention.

The organization's impact extends far beyond conferences and events. Through research, education, advocacy, and partnerships, the NSC helps organizations improve safety outcomes while promoting a culture where injuries and fatalities are viewed as preventable, not inevitable.

The Green Cross Celebration helps support those efforts.  Every sponsor, attendee, nominee, and award recipient contributes to a broader mission: creating safer workplaces and communities for everyone.

A Chance to Celebrate the People Behind the Progress

The best safety professionals understand something important: every policy, procedure, inspection, and training program exists to protect a person. That's why we're proud to support organizations like the National Safety Council and events like the Green Cross Celebration.

We're grateful for the work the National Safety Council does every day, and we encourage safety leaders across industries to learn more about the Green Cross Celebration, support the event, and help recognize the people making a difference.

Because safety is never the result of one person working alone.

It's the result of an entire community committed to protecting others.

And that's worth celebrating.
